Closings and NO Alcohol Sales Feb 26
Closings and NO Alcohol Sales Feb 26
All government offices, including Immigration, are closed on Friday 26th February 2021. This is for Makha Bucha Day. As this is a religious public holiday, there is also a 24 hour ban on the sale of alcohol on Friday.

Tizz indeed Doodoo ...also it is illegal to transport alcohol with the intent to sell on these days as well thus meaning a down day where ever we are on our collection and delivery route as it is possible to have the truck impounded and the contents confiscated.. not a happy ending at all.

I can’t imagine the grief that would come with the disappointment. Can you?

This is of course no surprise to those who pay attention to the innumerable Buddha days that sprinkle the Thai Calendar each and every year. Which happens so often actually talking about it is unusual .
The vast majority of places that serve alcohol are either closed or offer other services such as food with ZERO alcohol served.
Amazingly for those that MUST have an an Alcoholic drink and unable to pre-stock in their residence the local Mum and Pop shops seem to openly serve you whatever you want , while snubbing a nose at the Ban.
We must not forget that also Banks are shut as well, by that I mean the BIG clearing Banks in Bangkok, plus the major branches, but not the ones in the likes of Big C etc.
