Post by udon4 » September 23, 2022, 5:18 am

There was an airport city bus running from airport in to Udon Thani and central plaza still running?

No. It was a confirmed Covid fatality.

What would a reasonable taxi fare be to Central Plaza?

Thanks for the confirming the kill.

KP KP n thrice KP .. less doom n gloom .... simply bad timing ... nothing wrong with the idea ,planning, service and quality of the buses etc ... as Tam says n i agree wiped out to the large part due to covid and very few visitors and airport foot traffic how could they survive.

Ah DM stoking ire at an opinion, it is good that many of us recognise a comment as an opinion rather than an embeded negative comment .
It was initially to lower the traffic entering Udon from many places as well as providing a service at a very reasonable cost. I used it many times, did not find a problem with it, except the long waiting times .
But I am sure you already knew that having used it many times yourself judging by YOUR opinion.!!!!!

If however you did not then I thankyou for your erroneous recollection !!

Oh dear KP please let us bow to your knowledge and please tell us in what way it was poorly executed and not though through ?? .. clean brand new buses , numerous routes cheap price ..

You dont have to be Albert Einstein to work out the city bus idea was an attempt to lessen traffic thats pretty obvious .. alas when covid came along people stopped going out and the AIRPORT which was the hub for the service basically went to zero visitors.. this overall combination meant very few / no passengers and it became impossible to continue the service.

Again pure observation as usual, nothing of substance. Your becoming more and more like a politician with nothing to say but will say it anyway to impress your followers.
You are correct in that the lessening of numbers from the Airport was a factor, but as THIS BUS also ran from Big C / Makro, numbers were not the problem there.
Part of the problem was what to do with the vehicles left by people wishing to avail themselves of the cheap bus, more so when Big C was thinking about wanting a receipt to allow free parking . Their Car park as you may know is full to overflowing on some days and at the weekends .

As I said in that instance bad execution , but then apart from that I reiterate a good service .

Do not start bowing to my knowledge I just say it as it was, anyone with at least a few brain cells would know this stuff. What is your excuse ??

Nah you said it was superficial nothing to worry about and no crack in the skull a few stitches , unless you were making light of a more serious injury in which your mental abilities were damaged

The original question 3nd ( second question and thanks for the Bus update ) is how much would you expect the taxi fare to ring in at, on a journey from the Udon Airport to the Pannarai?

thanks

That was the price from airport to anywhere inside the ring road many moons ago when I last used an 'airport limo' from UTH. Anywhere outside the ring road saw a mark up.

It will be interesting to see if they still ask 200 baht now that everyone and his cousin is a Grab taxi.

Last time I took a taxi from airport to Sittarom (on ring road) was 400 baht. That was couple years ago.

Other option could be using Grab taxi if it allows you to pick up from the airport.

Also does the Pannarai not have a shuttle bus to/from the airport?

Sittarom on the 'inside' of the ring road or the 'outside'? I had a 'limo' want an extra 100 baht over the pre-paid 200 to get my pit about 150m on the 'outside'. Told him to stop, got out and walked the extra 3 minutes. Honestly, sometimes my Jockinese gets the better of me.
