Almost the best burger to be had in Thailand - Pattaya
I'm still marooned in Pattaya and just moved to a new condo in Wongamat bit closer to the younger man's action.
Fire work last weekend bought out the Thai style of fitting as many cars into the Pattaya area as possible.
So wondered out to check a beer bar or 2 and a feed. Happened upon the Kraken Lanta hamburger restaurant and was pleasantly surprised with the style of burger. Unbelievable. A craft beer joint as well and will taste that group of ales next visit.
Doubt I'll take on their Kraken Triple By Pass challenge.

Looks delicious - and a bit unhealthy unless taken in moderation.
Perhaps when you get back to Udon, you could scout the Nong Khai road to see if you can track down Bob's elusive mobile burger cart, and do a taste-off for us. viewtopic.php?p=685378#p685378
ps I see that (The Center) Beers 'n Burgers, Udon Map's burger joint of choice, is showing as "temporarily closed" on Google Maps - does anyone know what is going on here?

Does not exist and never did. I stopped along that stretch of road with my son and he asked the roadside vendors where the lady who worked in America had her burger stall.
None of the had ever seen her or her mobile stall.

I'll leave the burger scanning on NK road to those who cruise that neck of the woods.
Shame the UdonMap preferred burger shop is closed, unfortunately so many burger places in UT just don't last.
Everything is healthy in moderation, well almost everything.
I just posted as a place others might like to try on a visit to Pattaya. Place is buzzing with Touro's now.
I had a crack at the Montezuma burger, you do not need any extras like fries etc. Absolutely delicious.
Might have a return tonight, as tomorrow is a public holiday, for a taste of the many Craft beers while leaving a small area in me belly for perhaps BBQ chicken wings.
It's then a small downhill traverse on foot, maybe a waddle with a belly full of beer, home to Wongamat.

If Jomtien is your destination and a burger is in your culinary purview, there's Mad Cow.

Well another thread gone of topic. Especially by those specialist map auditors, who must get paid Perry post on the map.
No worries, life’s good.
Back to the Kraken tonight for some pints of fine craft beer, DM will understand the pleasure a fine craft beer can warm the pallet.
No burger but garlic bread and chicken wing.

Sounds like you're settling in well in Wongamat! I’ve been to Kraken Lanta myself, and their burgers are definitely a standout. The craft beer selection is a nice touch too, definitely worth going back for that next time. As for the Triple By Pass challenge, I’d pass on that too—it’s one of those "just for show" kind of things! If you’re into trying more places, there’s a good seafood spot down near the beach that’s worth checking out when you're in the mood for something different.

We had delightful tasting and well priced and value burgers over the weekend in Chiang Khan - certainly as good as anything I have previously had in Thailand. Choice of homemade beef or pork patties.
The Dirt Wheels Cafe Burger & Drink & Cannabis is a quirky joint on the boardwalk overlooking the mighty Mekong.
Sorry, no original photos, but the google site tells you all you need to know https://www.google.com/maps/place/%E0%B ... FQAw%3D%3D
In addition, I can also recommend Chiang Khan as well worth a visit, within about a 3 hour drive from Udon Thani.
