So there we have it, last season's champs (Aussie Pub) proved there still on form with a 8-7 victory over The Englishman's Retreat. But is was a close shave. The Englishman's Retreat led the way throughout the night, The Aussie Pub clawed back to 5-5 and then again at 7-7. The final was a doubles game with myself and Roy against Brian and Jon. The Aussie pub had 5 balls remaining and we had 2, I stepped up, cleared an easy ball followed by a very difficult shot the full length of the table, in my typical mode left myself absolutely no position on the black. There was 7ft between the black and the white and another 18" from the black to the pocket, angle approx. 110dgs but down it went, and back up the table came the white ball, rebounds off 1 of the remaining balls sending it straight into the corner pocket, GAME OVER!!!!!! 8-7 to The Aussies, congrats guys. Thanks for an entertaining night, atmosphere was spot on, and the buffet was very tasty indeed. See you in 5 weeks at The Englishman's retreat, where we will get our revenge.

OK, the results are in 10-5 to Molley Malone's, well done chaps! No other news to report, they say a good nite was had by all, only one person misbehaved and that award goes to Gary (last name unknown) who apparently thought 'cos he plays pool for MM it was perfectly alright to touch up the MM ladies (inc. the honarable owner of the establishment) Oops!!!

So the 3 venues to watch the games tonight are:
Koala bar, Englishman's Retreat and The Irish Clock.

Bearring in mind The Englishman's Retreat has a pool arena with a spectators bar, I know where I'd rather be. Chicken stew is on the menu (or Cowl as the Welsh call it).

There's always a clever one, never misses a mistake, well done!! Why are you coming to watch/play pool, or are you just concerned for the others I may have confused???

For everyone concerned, sorry for the confusion, the Pool League is always played on a Tuesday night. Watch over xmas wk though some may be played earlier or later depending on the majority rule.

Another round over, The Englishman's Retreat met The Fiddlers Green last night and saw them off with a secure 9-6 victory, c'mon-the-lads!! It's also come to my attention that all but 1 of The Englishman's retreat team are actually English and the other a very mild mannered/mild toned Scots-man (who could be mistaken for someone south of the border (near Carlisle????). This is merely a coinsidence, we have nothing against Irish or Aussies or any other nation, we just can't eat a whole one!!

Other scores to follow - and the results table should be updated by around um 9:43pm this evening. see it at www.englishmansretreat.com

PS. no comments on my spelling, it's not my fault my parents could not afford to send me to school :D and sometimes :?

MMMmmm, none! I was kidding, you said you updated the table meaning the league table and I tried to be funny and said it (the pool table) didn't look different.

Time for my medication!

Here's the fixtures for tonights games:
