Musk is a truly remarkable person. Blessed with an amazing vision for the future, it's coupled, somewhat ineloquently, with incredible marketing skills and a deep financial savvy. What's that cool new terminology for the "outside the box" thinker again? A disruptor?

Then he bought Twitter and for me, that's when the wheels started to come off the smart man's Tesla.

When he decided that politics could do with a disruptor, I think few would have disagreed, but his modus operandi, greatly enhanced by owning and controlling a sizeable chunk of social media, is as wrong as Rupert Murdoch's domination of traditional mainstream media is. It only got worse when he felt compelled to get into bed with the self professed swamp drainer. I'll have to blame the Democrats for letting that "big one" and a few others, get off their hook.

His excruciatingly awkward, jerky dancing episodes; probably only Theresa May did it worse, and making those strangely strangled "Whoooa!" noises on stage are hard to watch, but you do anyway. He looks like the friendless, nerdy new kid in class who's trying too hard to look cool in order to impress, but to me the "Roman salutes" are just the icing on an increasingly execrable cake.

Pretty remarkable amount of work going on in a short amount of time. I really don't understand why there is so much pushback from the left media and democrats. The only explanation I can conger is perhaps some of the members of congress and senate have a vested interest in keeping the status quo in place.

Then of course the legacy media are given a few narratives to push then those that believe the MSM get onboard. Having a predisposition of hating on billionaires makes the rubbish spewed on the typical nightly news channel even easier to swallow then we get some substance free verbiage here on UM. We live in interesting times.

Pretty much agree that this percentage of GDP contributions to Foreign Aid is open to absolute misuse.
There should be a set of acceptable area's (confirmed by law) where we happily help the less fortunate, but this basically ridiculous notion that we must spend a certain amount of money each year no matter what lunatic idea is supported is wrong, just basically wrong.
I believe the modern definition of NGO's and Charity organisations is.
A place where little luvvies with worthless University degree's can congregate and discuss what rainbow colour is top of the swirl, what is the latest thing that offends a minority group and all the while picking up a salary, without blushing, that would feed a village in Africa for a year.

Now neither Musk nor Trump want to take credit for the termination of thousands of Federal employees, now claiming it was the heads of each agency who made these decisions. LOL. Thursday’s meeting of the Cabinet was a sign that Trump is mindful of the growing complaints. He tried to offer each side something by praising both Musk and his cabinet secretaries. Trump made clear that he still supported the mission of DOGE.

Trump said from now on, the agency heads are in charge and Musk will only advise.

I agree with what DOGE is doing 1,000%; but my trust threshold with Musk has never been above 50/50. Today, it's near ZERO.

The cutting of USaid overnight will mean that thousands will be unable to get life saving meds they need. Inevitably, some will die. A more caring USA government would only cut non-medical aid immediately, and work with others to streamline/share the costs at a point in the future. As it was, many clinics closed overnight. A great way to gain enemies!

Even the Trump haters have to admit that the government is bloated. Too many chiefs and they all have too many hangers on, relatives and friends plus some that they owe favors.
