The baht is headed wherever the powers want it to go, which is much like any currency anywhere. It's not something I can control, and it is pretty much unpredictable, so I don't try.

Tough game to play, in fact, notice how many fewer ads there are for FOREX traders all over the place? The SEC determined 3 out of four were losing money....it has been a boiler room favorite for a while, but word is getting out. Still, cost averaging is the way to go. A large condo purchase would require a little luck and timing. I did notice BKK Bank changed their rates four times today, all in favor of the Dollar...the next month will be interesting on this matter.

I dont know if jimboPSM follow this tread anymore, but today there is a very good article about the manipulation of the currency.

What i dont understand is why the Bank of Thailand is loosing money on the manipulation and i hope someone can explain it to me :)
The Bank of Thailand has attempted to allay concerns about its accumulated losses by clarifying that they stem from its financial operations to mitigate baht appreciation through foreign currency purchases.

it was pretty obvious the baht overshot on the way up. When you look at the cost of things that usually are closely priced in the US and Thailand, and suddenly they are ,10% more here...it is too strong. NO print cartridges Heineken Beer, Logitech computer peripherals..come to mind. That is the nature of currency from developing nations. So the try to slow its strengthening by holding the foreign currency, but they get creamer in the process. However, the Dollar has gained three percent in 22 days...so they just got back a lot of their losses. OTOH, when it was 36...things seemed just a bit too cheap...and the smart folks load up.
