September 25
For any of our Jewish friends

YOM KIPPUR DAY
Otherwise known as the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur is considered the holiest day in Judaism. The holiday lasts approximately 25 hours and is typically observed with fasting and prayer in alignment with the themes of atonement and repentance. On Yom Kippur, people observing the holiday are asked to abstain from food and drink (as well as bathing and marital relations). In turn, it is encouraged that people spend the day asking God’s forgiveness for their sins and donating to charity.
Yom Kippur concludes the 10-day period in the month of Tishrei (typically occurring between September and October), known as the High Holy Days or Days of Awe, which begins with the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah. This year, Yom Kippur will end on the evening of September 25.

Dodo, it's World Bollywood Day. What does that have to do with any problems between the Raj and British North America?

National Johnny Appleseed Day

When confronted with the legend of Johnny Appleseed, most people are surprised to discover that this American legend was a living, breathing, historical human being!
National Johnny Appleseed Day
It’s true. Far from being simply the stuff of folklore and folk tales, Appleseed (real name: John Chapman) was an American nurseryman who introduced apple trees to the Midwest, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. He was also a conservationist and missionary during the earliest days of the United States.

And yet, despite his living, breathing status, Appleseed was, indeed, a living legend. And Johnny Appleseed Day on September 26 is celebrated in his honor.

You'd better check your geography book, Doodoo, Pennsylvania is not in the Midwest of the United States.

Man you need to go back and retake English
Let me explain "introduced apple trees to the Midwest, including Pennsylvania" Including means the Midwest PLUS Pennsylvania.
Definition of "including" "To consider as part of or allow into a group or class: thanked the host for including us."

You need to re-read your sentence, Doodoo. Now, after indicating apple trees were introduced to the Midwest, you wrote, including Pennsylvania. As I mentioned Pennsylvania is not in the Midwest. The other States you mentioned are.

The correct English grammatical way to go about this would be to write '...who introduced apple trees to Pennsylvania and the Midwest including Ohio, Indiana and Illinois'.

But you wrote the Midwest including Pennsylvania. The problem is not 'including' but the 'Midwest' followed by Pennsylvania and the Midwest states. Next time try something like the Midwest and Pennsylvania and you will be fine. There you go. There is no need for including, is there? It is nice to be able to help you for a change. 555

Prophet Muhammad’s birthday

Muslims commemorate Mawlid, or Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday, during ‘Rabi’ al-Awwal,’ the third month of the Islamic calendar. This year, it takes place on September 27. Because it marks the birth anniversary of Islam’s founder and the proclamation of the Quran’s first verse, this day is honored by many countries with significant Muslim populations as an official holiday. The Shia community celebrates the event on the 17th of the month, but the Sunni community celebrates it on the 12th. It’s a day to gather and celebrate the founder of one of the world’s most significant religions with millions of followers.

Notably, celebrating Mawlid is banned in Saudi Arabia (and Qatar) because "there's no evidence the Prophet celebrated his birthday."

Meanwhile here in Malaysia, it's acknowledged on the evening of 27th while the 28th is a public holiday (but with these lazy fooks, you can't really tell).

Chewing Gum Day
Despite its seemingly modern usage, chewing gum has been around much longer than you would think. The oldest piece of chewing gum was found in Kierikki, Finland and it was 5,000 years old! Found in 2007 by a British archaeology student, the piece of gum was made of bark tar, which was believed to be antiseptic. Centuries-old teeth marks could be clearly seen on the piece.

In Ancient Greece, another form of chewing gum called mastic gum was chewed by the Greeks. Derived from the resin of the mastic tree, the gum was also believed to have antiseptic qualities and was used in maintaining oral health. Aztecs and Mayans chewed a substance called ‘chicle,’ while Native Americans munched on the sap from spruce trees. This goes to show that chewing gum has existed in various forms in civilizations dating back thousands of years.

However, chewing gum didn’t become truly commercialized until 1848, when John B. Curtis invented and sold gum that he called Maine Pure Spruce Gum. In the 1860s, chewing gum hit another milestone thanks to John Colgan, who produced the first flavored chewing gum.

Today, unlike its early forms, chewing gum is made out of artificial ingredients, such as gum base, flavoring, color, and sweeteners. Its tantalizing variety of colors and flavors provides a harmless source of fun and, even better, has oral health benefits. Sugar-free gum is capable of reducing the risk of plaque and tooth decay as the act of chewing increases the flow of saliva. It also strengthens the teeth and neutralizes bad breath. All this is great news for gum lovers!
