Why hasnt the media told us more about this?
It seems that if certain countries are not concerned then forget it.

Just my 2¢, but I think two reasons, primarily. First, the conflict has been going on for decades. People, particularly in the west, have limited attention spans. Second, Africa is not as familiar to westerners as Europe, Middle East, even Asia.

The Belgians started it as they tried to hang onto their mines after they were forced to relinquish their colonies after WWII. A nasty business with mercenaries like Mad Mike Hoare leading the conflict. He was a mate of my dad, both being British soldiers in Palestine in the 30s. Tried to get my dad to join him but dad would have none of it. Mike used to stay with us when in Australia, so I grew up a bit listening to him
I had a bumper sticker in Texas that read 'Beam me up Scotty'. I often wish I could find one in Udon Thani
