Re: Modi's India Today
The hypocrisy of Modi and the G20 knows no bounds.
While western media makes much of his challenges to seek unity and agreement among the G20 summiteers, his administration fosters the ongoing and increasing marginalization of women, people with disabilities, the aged, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and about two hundred million Muslims.

For those interested in Modi's India, you might want to read this analysis,
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/insi ... -6qdv6crvpInside Modi’s India: Hindu nationalism has deepened the faultlines
Beyond the swagger of the G20 summit, the prime minister’s populist touch has a dark side
Down a potholed rural road, miles from the freshly swept, newly plant-lined boulevards of Delhi, a single poster of Narendra Modi looms above the ruins of bulldozed shops and houses, proclaiming “One Earth, One Family, One Future”.
It is a far cry from the pageantry engulfing the capital as it prepares to host the G20, where pictures of Modi plaster every surface, unsightly slums are veiled with green curtains and policemen guard the thousands of potted plants deployed to prettify world leaders’ journeys.
But it was here in Nuh, 50 miles away from Delhi, in the weeks leading up to the summit, where the latest bout of deadly religious violence flared, exposing another ugly side of Modi’s India that he would rather keep hidden.
It was July 31 when Hindu nationalists led a religious march through the district they call “little Pakistan” for its Muslim population, taunting its inhabitants, who responded with a shower of stones. Soon the clashes descended into violent riots, with two policemen and three marchers killed.
Within hours, the unrest spread to Gurgaon, the gleaming tech startup suburb of Delhi, home to multinational companies from Google to Expedia and the location for this week’s preliminary G20 meetings. A mob gathered around Hindu nationalist leaders calling for Muslim blood before marching to one of Gurgaon’s two mosques to set it alight. Inside, the young imam, who had stayed to guard the premises, was shot and stabbed to death by the mob.
You only pass through this life once, you don't come back for an encore.

All this and the fact that most of the Russian "ghost fleet" oil tankers with their undeclared destinations happen to end up in India.
