WooHoo!

Perhaps one day we will be able to book our checked baggage kgs online from/to UTH to match our connecting flights to/from abroad instead of the fustercluck that we currently enjoy at the BKK airport ticket office.

I hear ya. Unfortunately, UTH isn't classed as an international airport unlike the 5 regional ones that are. I think AoT control that and airlines comply. It's always a lottery when interlining between carriers, even if they are code-sharing. If they're not in the same alliance, all bets are off.

I remember a while back my bags were checked on THAI all the way to ABZ via LHR on BA. THAI is Star Alliance and BA is One World. But BA couldn't do it on the way back so I had to do the baggage reclaim/recheck at a multi-terminal Heathrow.

Go figure.

It will be interesting to see how the pricing pans out under the new structure.

I have always found booking online with Thai Smile to be cheaper than Thai Air for exactly the same flight.

Schedule changes. Cool season used to be called high season. Chances are they may add a fourth UTH flight on weekends like they did before Covid. Arrived late, crew stopover and headed back at 7am the next day which was great for onward regional international connections.

Now THAI is operating the BKK-UTH route, the checked baggage weight restrictions have improved. See below.

Before, under THAI Smile, the regular maximum was 20 kg while Smile Plus got you 30 kg.

I just returned from UK with 2 bags totalling 32 kg on Full Flex. Air fares haven't increased.
