You might be forgetting something: He has not yet stood trial.

Haven’t forgotten anything. He’s tying up the Federal case on an appeal claiming he has presidential immunity, which looks like he is going to lose. The next appeal will be sent to the Supreme Court. Trial can’t start, or be thrown out, until after that is decided.

I realize that, I was just making a point that the only way he is going to be able to get out of this -----show he put himself in is due to the fact that he has a supermajority in the Supreme Court, and that would be his only saving grace.

Agreed, it's the only thing that can save him. He's already crying that it's unfair to try him in D.C. (despite the fact that that is where the behavior for which he's being tried took place) because the majority of D.C. residents are Democrats.
