New market for Thai retirement resorts

Post by tamada » November 4, 2023, 8:46 am

UK pensioners needing some sun or round-the-clock care flock to luxury £1,500-a-month retirement resorts in Thailand, which are nearly three times cheaper than the UK

Homes, some specialising in treating people with Alzheimer's and dementia, were pictured in the hot Thai sun with large pools, parasols and palm trees lining outdoor squares.

The facilities compete with each other, boasting hydrotherapy treatment options, spas and food grown on site - as well as gyms, salons and a place to play pétanque.

The appeal of Thai facilities comes as waiting lists for routine NHS procedures have shot up to another record high in the wake of chaotic strikes.

England's ever-growing backlog now stands at 7.75million patients — the equivalent of one in seven people.

Read the press release on ASEAN News , to many questions not covered, does the price include meals and how to pay for the obvious medical Costs should they arise .

The fact that it is always the minutiae that catches people out the fact that it is hard to determine these and other minor facts especially regarding Immigration requirements etc, .

A good idea but p[oorly released , wait a couple of years and then see how it is progressing

It's a publicity piece, not a contract. As I read it, all the ones mentioned do include meals, and the article specifically said that Homerly Senior Living has visa service. There's much more information available on the websites of the facilities if you're interested.

Years ago I had a brain fart. Finding an abandoned beachfront condo and renovating it into a retirement home. There was no way to finance such an expensive project so other than thinking about it, it ended there. It would have had all necessary services for handicapped as well as healthy retired people. Employing live in doctors, nurses and staff would attract qualified people. Sitting on the beach in a wheelchair or around a garden style swimming pool seems like an enjoyable way to spend your final days.

if there's some developer out there who figures money can be made those retirement resorts will appear.. Googling Retirement Resorts Thailand shows a few but not exactly how you describe it...

Another option is to have a pretty young large chested nurse move in with you and pay her/him a salary , im sure it would not only be more fun, pleasing on the eye but less expensive than an old fogies home or hang out.... alas euthanasia is not an option here and the nearest thing has to be CCW on a Friday afternoon
